Sweater Weather Tag

sweater-weather-tag

I have seen this tag going around YouTube for a while now, and once I saw this on MakeUpSavvy I thought I would join in as an attempt to get festive.

1. Favourite candle scent?
I was enjoying Yankee Candle's Rain Washed Berries earlier in this season but as usual I have now gone back to my favourite Yankee Candle, Black Cherry.

2. Coffee, tea, or hot chocolate?
During the winter I tend to drink more hot drinks, usually I drink a lot of coffee but at this time of year I like to drink fruit tea rather than juice, and the odd mint hot chocolate.

3. What's the best winter memory you have?
There was a particularly bad winter, where there were 6 foot drifts everywhere. I remember playing out in the snow and climbing up high walls and jumping off them in to the massive drifts. Coming back in and defrosting my feet on the radiator. Something not so good was when the special snow plough which sucks snow up and shoots it up and over to the side of the road was trying to get through the snow and I got covered in it, and it was dirty snow with pebbles and other dirt in it.

4. Which makeup trend do you prefer: dark lips or winged eyeliner?
Winged eyeliner is easier as you can apply it and go, no need to check up on it or touch it up. However I do really like dark lips.

[17 - New Black]

5. Best fragrance for winter?
Usually I am one for sweet fruity perfumes but at the moment I am really enjoying Dior Miss Cherie.

6. Favourite Christmas Food?
I can take it or leave it, not overly bothered by the food. There is far too much focus on it and it all being perfect.

7. What is winter weather like where you live?
Winter weather in the UK is usually cold and rainy. Sometimes there is snow, and sometimes there is a lot of wind. Mostly though, rain. It is also always dark, especially in the north.

8. Most worn sweater?
Some sort of black hoodie, fashion goes out and the layers come on. In the winter I think I end up looking a lot bigger than I am, then again I prefer to be warm.

9. Must-have nail polish this winter?
I am in the middle of doing a nail polish battle on my main blog, I think the one which I am really liking wearing at the moment is Essie's Leading Lady. Festive but not a compete over the top glitter.

10. Skinny jeans or leggings?
I very rarely wear either. Much more of a thermal tights person!

11. Boots or Uggs?
Combat boots.

12. Is pumpkin spice worth the hype?
I have no idea, never smelt it or ate it.

13. Favourite winter TV show?
I don't think I have one.

14. What songs really get you into the Christmas spirit?
I'm not much of a Christmas song person.

Nail Fail: Baubles

These are some nails I did last Christmas but never got around to posting on my main blog. I don't think they are very good, the stamping went a bit wonky and because of that I didn't bother to topcoat it which makes them look even worse!

TAG: I'm a Blogger Get Me Outta Here!

While I wasn't technically tagged to do this one, I thought I would anyway! I saw this on Bite No More's blog. I don't really watch I'm A Celeb, more dip my toe in to random bits of it.

You can only take ONE product into the jungle (aka your luxury item). What would you choose and why?
I think it would be black eyeliner, as I struggle to be outside without make up and eyeliner is the most important thing. Otherwise you can't see my eyes! (lip balm isn't luxury right, I have about 12 on me at all time, much more a necessity than a luxury).

What would be your main pre jungle worry?
Being on camera.

You only have five minutes to get ready before going into the jungle, what would be your quick beauty routine?
Tie my hair up, and sunscreen it would be a vital thing in Australia I imagine.

Last year we saw Helen Flanagan wearing her hair in a top bun. What would be your signature hairstyle?
Not one for top buns myself, it would have to be a high ponytail as having my hair down in that heat would be unbearable as well as bound to get bugs and other weird jungle stuff in it.

For moral support, which female celebrity would you like to be in the jungle with you?
I think everyone has the possibility to be interesting, you could get to know someone on a more than shallow level which could be interesting although perhaps not for TV.

Everyone’s given a role in the camp. What lifestyle skill would you bring to the jungle?
I can cook rice and tidy up? Would that be a lifestyle skill??

What one thing about being a beauty blogger sometimes makes you want to scream ‘Get Me Out Of Here’?
I'm not sure I would describe myself as a beauty blogger, but as a blogger in general I would have to complain about the bad comments. I know haters are going to hate and trolls are going to troll but surely it takes effort to make negative comments, why bother? As Thumper from Bambi said, "If you can't say something nice... don't say nothing at all".

Challenge – This is a once in a life time opportunity. You're up for a trial to face your fears or try something new, what would you choose to do and why?
Right now I would say something along the lines of that Henry Ford quote, "If you always do what you've always done, you'll always get what you've always got" - so much easier said than done though. I seem to be quite a quote liking person at the moment, another one by Ford which sums me up is "you can have any colour as long as it's black". Although if it came down to eating weird things then no, I am vegetarian and would refuse to eat random animal parts.

Well that's it. Are you watching, and who do you think will win?
Anyone who want's to do this tag can, let me know though so I can see your answers. As for who will win, possibly her from Emmerdale or the guy from TOWIE as he is doing the tasks.

Beauty Tag

Beauty Tag

1. Skincare or Makeup?
Skincare is a boring necessity whereas makeup is like war paint, and can be fun.

2. What is your all time favorite foundation?
I am going to have to go with Revlon ColorStay, it can be full coverage but more recently I have been applying it with a Beauty Blender dupe and it gives a light coverage.

3. Do you tend to buy more drugstore makeup, or high end?
Drugstore, I don't have the money for high end. Besides I think that cheaper brands can be equally as good as high end ones.

4. What is your favorite nail polish brand?
Now this is a difficult one! Looking at my polish shelves I think it would have to be Barry M, cheap but good.

5. What is your favorite skincare product?
I like to use Montagne Jeunesse face masks, especially the blemish mud one but for a pore product then The Face Shop Nose Clay Mask.

6. What was the very first beauty product you fell in love with?
Urban Decay Primer Potion, I had suffered with creasing eyeshadow for many years and thought I would never get to wear it again.

7. MAC Paint Pots or Maybelline Color Tattoos?
I don't have either of these, they seem as if they crease quickly which for me would be an issue.

8. Do you start with hair or makeup?
I usually begin by moisturising my face, then brushing my hair, priming my face then doing my hair then make up.

9. Sephora or Ulta?
Living in England we have neither of these shops.

10. What is your best beauty tip for beginners?
Practice, lock yourself in your room and play about. If it works great, if not it's only make up you can remove and start again if you want.

11. Which blogger/youtuber has inspired you the most?
Not just one, I began blogging back in 2010 and most of the people from around then seem to have stopped. Just keep plodding!

#SBBC - 29 - Earliest Make Up Memory's

Earliest Make Up Memory's

For me as long as I remember make up was there, my mother always wore blue eyeshadow and eyeliner (this was the 80's) and when she wasn't wearing it to me it signified that something was wrong with her.

It is weird the association I made between make up and health as a child!

#SBBC - 28 - What was I thinking?

What was I thinking?!

Looking back I can see a lot of things which I probably shouldn't have said or done but relating to beauty I think it would be wanting to wear a red eyeshadow, but in practice it looked like I'd either been crying for hours or had a punch up! I think red eyeshadow does have it's place but its a case of wearing it in a way which looks good rather than bad.

#SBBC - 27 - Expensive Item

Most expensive item

I don't have a lot of money to be spending frivolously on make up, so I think the most expensive item I have would be Urban Decay's Primer Potion which is £15. Even then I was bought it as a gift rather than purchasing it myself!

#SBBC - 26 - Hair History

This is a bit of a hair time line for you all, as you soon will be able to tell my hair is usually long and dark. Oh and ignore the splodges, I am sure you all have embarrassing photos of yourself as kids you don't like!

8yrs pretty much the same length from 7-10, quite odd to see my natural hair colour again!

Then when I was 10 I decided to chop it all off

Skip a few years, I had grown it long again and kept it that way. Started dyeing it mahogany when I was 14, the next photo shows the colour I had by the time I was 16

And the length it had grown to, hope you can tell

Then I went dark brown

Letting it grow a bit longer

Dyed it black / blue and cut a few layers to frame the face a bit

By the time I was 19 I'd gotten some of the length cut off and then went all the way dyeing it full on black, nice and shiny too!

Tried dyeing my hair a purple / black washed out so quickly! Looks like it had grown as well and by this point I had discovered hair straighteners. Oh and this was 'devils day' (6.6.06) lol!

My sister got all creative a month later...

Another one from 2006, I wasnt impressed by my hair colour fading and so just before I redyed it black I tried out some bleach on the underneath layer. Was not a good colour! But it was only light for about 30mins before I did it black again.

So by the time I was 22 I clearly was getting bored of the hair, well if the previous year was anything to go by. This is the longest my hair has been.

And so I decided 10years after my last big chop to go for it again, and dyeing it brown / black

Quite liked it short, although for some reason it seemed to get greasy quicker. Took the same amount of time to style as the longer hair did but the drying time was a lot less! Dyed it black again

Later on that year I got it cut again, really didnt like this on me though

Once it had grown a bit I added some purple

After that I got sick of going to the hairdressers for them to end up doing something I didnt like and just let it grow

Let it grow some more then attempted curling it with straighteners, really need to do that again it looked good!

Kept it growing

Carried on letting it grow but tried dyeing it purple / black again see if the formulation had changed since 2006 when I last tried it, but no it still washed out quickly

I've long black hair by 2011, 28 inches from hairline to ends

Curly hair attempt #2, hadn't tried since 2009 in the above photo!

By 2012 I was bored of the black and wanted to have purple hair, so I began the process of trying to lift the colour so the purple dye would take.

And this is after using Directions hair dye in Plum, I even got a rare outdoors shot
directions-plum-hair-dye directions-plum-hair-dye directions-plum-hair-dye

Quite a lot more pictures than I thought there would be actually! Have you had many styles? I don't seem to have had all that many, much more of a repeat offender I think!
